PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur – A barangay tanod died after his firearm allegedly discharged accidentally during a drinking session in Barangay Libertad, Dimataling town, Zamboanga del Sur on Thursday night. Police Capt. Derf Jay Maquinta, spokesperson of the Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office (ZSPPO), said the incident occurred at around 8:20 p.m. while the 59‑year‑old victim was with his nephew.
