More than 300 cadets of National Cadet Corps (NCC) organised a massive ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ rally in Machilipatnam on Tuesday.

As part of the Har Ghat Tiranga national campaign, the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), and the NCC jointly organised the programme. NCC 16th Battalion Commanding Officer Colonel Rupesh Awasthi flagged off the rally at Koneru Centre, which proceeded through the main road, streets, and finally reached the Andhra Jateeya Kalasala.

NCC cadets from various schools and colleges displayed tricolour flags and took out the rally chanting ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ slogans. Dappu artistes of Bharati Kalasamithi and other cultural troupes participated alongside them.

Speaking on the occasion, CBC Assistant Director R. Ramesh Chandra said the cadets and students took out the rally carrying a 200-foot-long national flag till the Andhra Jateeya Kalasala, where Pingali Venkayya, the initial designer of the national flag worked. This loaction in Machilipatnam reportedly played a key role during the freedom struggle.

Colonel Rupesh Awasthi said the objective of the rally was to hoist the Indian flag at every home, celebrate the Independence Day festivities on a grand scale, and spread the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ message among the public.
