BELGRADE, August 11. /TASS/. Serbia can not in good conscience side with the West in opposing Russia because of its brotherly ties with the people of Russia and the anti-Serbian stance taken by Western countries, the chairman of the opposition New Democratic Party of Serbia, Milos Jovanovic, has told TASS.

"Although the people of Serbia sympathize with the people on both sides, with the exception of neo-Nazis, and mourns all the victims of this war, it is impossible and unacceptable for the people of Serbia to side with the West in the conflict between the West and Russia," he said.

"And this is not only because of the natural and historical ties that connect the people of Serbia and Russia, but also because even now, the West positions itself as an enemy of Serbia and the people of Serbia," the Serbian politician added.
