Bohol buy-bust: 3 nabbed inside Tagbilaran drug den, ₱387K shabu seized

CEBU CITY, Philippines — Three individuals, including a suspected drug den maintainer, remain in police custody as of Thursday, August 13, after authorities dismantled a drug den during a buy-bust operation in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

The operation was conducted on Tuesday afternoon, August 11, at around 3:23 p.m. in Purok 7, Brgy. Poblacion III, by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Bohol Provincial Office, Tagbilaran City Police Station, and Bohol Maritime Police.

Three arrested in buy-bust

PDEA-7 identified the drug den maintainer as alias “Carlo,” 30, a cellphone technician and resident of Brgy. Poblacion III.

Also arrested were two alleged drug den visitors: alias “Jonathan,” 43, jobless and a resident of Brgy. Poblacion III; and alias “Leo,” 38, a tricycle driver and resident of Brgy. Mansasa, Tagbilaran City.

The three suspects were also identified as first-time offenders.

Shabu, paraphernalia seized in buy-bust

Authorities seized 27 packs of suspected shabu weighing around 57 grams, with a standard market value of ₱387,600.

Also recovered during the operation were the buy-bust money, one cellular phone, and various drug paraphernalia.

The seized drug evidence has been submitted to the PNP Bohol Forensic Unit for examination and proper disposition.

Two-week case buildup

Authorities said the operation stemmed from information provided by a confidential informant.

The suspects had been under police monitoring for about two weeks before the buy-bust operation was conducted.

Police further alleged that the drug den was being used for the disposal of around 25 grams of shabu weekly.

Cases being prepared

Authorities are preparing cases for alleged violations of Sections 5, 6, 7, 11, and 12 of Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The provisions cover the alleged sale of dangerous drugs, maintenance of a drug den, visiting a drug den, possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The suspects will remain under police custody as authorities proceed with the filing of the cases in court.
