Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has expressed strong dissatisfaction over the party’s handling of the ongoing Special Summary Revision (SIR) of voter lists, warning that a staggering 21 per cent of votes are at risk of being deleted due to negligence.

Speaking at an emergency Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Zoom meeting on Thursday night, the Chief Minister faulted party leaders from district in-charge ministers down to booth-level workers for failing to take adequate responsibility on the ground. The TPCC emergency zoom meeting on SIR was attended among others by the State unit Chief B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan and other senior leaders. To immediately rectify these lapses, the Chief Minister issued strict directives and operational deadlines, ordering district in-charge ministers to travel to their respective districts to hold urgent review meetings with Parliamentary and Assembly constituency in-charges.

Mr. Reddy said: “I want all the ministers to spend two days on the field to prepare a comprehensive report for every single constituency. All Assembly constituency in-charges should physically remain in their respective segments for at least four days to identify voter list discrepancies and resolve them completely.”

Making it clear that the party will not tolerate any leadership lapses, Mr. Revanth Reddy emphasised that these are explicit directives directly from the All India Congress Committee (AICC), warning that a failure to implement a foolproof strategy right now would result in severe political losses in the future. Along with fixing the operational issues in the voter lists, the Chief Minister called upon party ranks to aggressively expose an alleged vote-deletion conspiracy being jointly orchestrated by the BJP and BRS, directing every worker to take this up as a personal responsibility and move forward on a warfooting.

Ms. Meenakshi Natarajan wanted the Congress party to take the EC‘s actions in Telangana seriously, highlighting that 73 lakh votes have been deleted and 64 lakh flagged with anomalies. She said this massive scale of voter deletion, unprecedented in any State, is part of a larger conspiracy by the BJP and the EC.

Warning that the combined 1.30 crore affected votes pose a serious threat, she urged MPs, MLAs, and leaders to rigorously scrutinise un-digitalised and anomalous entries. She wanted Booth Level Assistants (BLAs) to remain vigilant to restore eligible voters during the Special Summary Revision (SIR).

Mr. Mahesh Goud, who chaired the meeting, alleged a covert conspiracy involving the BJP and the EC, noting that the scale of deletions surpasses figures seen in Bengal. He asked district in-charge ministers to immediately convene review meetings with local MLAs and leaders to scrutinise every vote registry. Warning that lapses could lead to disastrous political consequences, the TPCC president made it clear that no negligence will be tolerated and strict action will be taken against non-performing leaders.
