Morning fire razes Minglanilla Public Market

CEBU CITY, Philippines — A fire broke out at the Ward 1 Market in Minglanilla, Cebu, on Friday morning, Aug. 14, razing stores and stalls inside the public market.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Minglanilla received the fire report at 9:57 a.m. and raised the incident to a third alarm at 10:05 a.m. as firefighters worked to contain the blaze.

Minglanilla Acting Mayor Lheslen Abella Enad said the BFP declared the fire under control at 10:35 a.m.

The BFP later declared the fire out at 10:50 a.m.

As of this writing, BFP Minglanilla said they are still investigating the source and circumstances of the fire.

The agency has yet to disclose the total amount of damage caused by the blaze.///
