The Madras Medical Mission (MMM) and TANKER Foundation organised the ‘Renal Pathology Made Easy & Transplant Immunology’ workshop at The Madras Medical Mission, Chennai, on August 8. Organised by the Departments of Nephrology and Pathology, the workshop brought together nephrologists, pathologists, nephropathologists, transplant physicians and surgeons, immunologists and trainees.

The workshop was inaugurated by Mumtaz Patel, President, Royal College of Physicians, London. S. Pushkala, Vice-Chancellor in-charge of Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, was the guest of honour.

The programme covered common kidney diseases, how kidney biopsies are used to diagnose them, complications after transplantation, newer treatments for membranous nephropathy, and transplant immunology.

The workshop was held under the academic leadership of Georgi Abraham, Advisor, Department of Nephrology, The Madras Medical Mission, and President and Founder Trustee of TANKER Foundation. The programme aimed to promote academic exchange and collaboration between clinicians and pathologists in nephrology, renal pathology, and transplantation.
