New arrest warrant out vs Alice Guo

MANILA, Philippines — Convicted former Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo received another arrest warrant on Friday night, this time for three counts of graft.

The Manila Police District-Jose Abad Santos Police Station served the warrant against Guo at around 6 p.m. inside the Correctional Institute for Women in Mandaluyong, where she has been imprisoned since December 2025 after getting a life sentence for qualified human trafficking.

Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 67 issued the warrants against Guo and 11 others on Aug. 7.

Guo is charged with violating Section 3(e) of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

The court set the bail at P90,000 per count.

Guo and two co-accused were found guilty in November 2025 of organizing human trafficking at Baofu Compound, a Philippine offshore gaming operator based in Bamban.

The former mayor is also facing tax evasion charges for failure to pay taxes amounting to P1.008 billion, inclusive of surcharges and interest. — Andrew Ronquillo
