The 19-year-old Sheremet finished first in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 21.13 seconds, setting a new Ukrainian record, according to Ukrinform.
Second place went to “neutral” swimmer Yegor Kornev (21.37), and third place to Serbian swimmer Andrey Barna (21.37).
For the 19-year-old Sheremet, this is his first gold medal at the European Long-Course Championships. Previously, in 2025, he finished as the European runner-up in the 50-meter freestyle in a 25-meter pool.

We should add that Ukrainian swimmer Vladyslav Bukhov (21.58) finished fifth in this event.
