One person dies after Tauranga crash

One person has died after a crash closed a main road through Tauranga.

The single-vehicle crash on Cameron Road was reported to police just after 5.40am Saturday.

Police confirmed the only occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.

Cameron Road is still closed, between 15th Ave and 17th Ave, while police conduct a scene examination.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
