Fearne Cotton became a 'wellness' guru after quitting Radio 1 for the good of her health and has won a new generation of fans with her podcast, Happy Place.

The broadcaster, 44, has, however, left Jo Wood in an unhappy place since she separated from her stepson Jesse Wood.

Fearne and musician Jesse, 49 - the son of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood and his first wife, the late Krissy Findlay - announced that their marriage was over in 2024, after ten years. The pair have a son, Rex, and a daughter Honey.

Jesse also has two children from a previous relationship.

At the time, Fearne insisted that 'it was all very amicable'.

However, now Jo, 71, who was close to Fearne, says the presenter has distanced herself from the family since embarking on a new relationship with TV director Elliot Hegarty, 54, whom she's been dating since her split from Jesse.

'I haven't spoken to Fearne since,' reveals former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Jo. 'She didn't call any of us - nothing.' Jo adds on the Suddenly Single podcast: 'I figured that she wanted to start a new life with a new man, and I thought that's fine.'

Fearne's behaviour appears to have been particularly disappointing for ex-model Jo because she managed to remain friendly with Ronnie and his family even though she was devastated when he abandoned her for an 18-year-old Russian cocktail waitress in 2008.

Keen not to antagonise the woman she regarded as a daughter, Jo adds: 'I've got nothing against Fearne. I think she's lovely, and I understand that when you fall in love with someone you can't help yourself. I'm very happy for her.'

Fearne has embraced her fresh chapter by having 'new beginnings' tattooed on her right hip.

Despite the family changes, Jo remains a devoted grandmother figure to Fearne's children. 'Jesse's kids call me Grandma Jo and my kids call me Gangster Granny,' she says.

The Essex-born actress, 37, explains: 'It's important to have them [boundaries] and to support each other as well because you want to create a set that everyone feels good in and feels safe in.'

She adds: 'It shouldn't be painful or hard, in a way that people get harmed. It's really important to create a safe space.'
