Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi closed out the 158-day parliamentary session Saturday with all 64 Cabinet-sponsored bills enacted.

Her ruling Liberal Democratic Party and junior coalition partner, the Japan Innovation Party (JIP), also advanced several near-term commitments in their agreement, particularly on institutional and security policy.

The prime minister has proven she can pass bills and hold her new coalition together. But the bigger test now for her is whether she can turn political stability into results voters can feel.
