Low-pressure area brings midweek rains to parts of Luzon

MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and parts of Luzon may experience rains due to a low pressure area, the state weather bureau said Wednesday, July 29.

In its weather forecast, PAGASA said the LPA was in the vicinity of Baao, Camarines Sur, but was unlikely to develop into a tropical depression.

The LPA may bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, the Bicol Region, MIMAROPA and the provinces of Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon and Marinduque.

PAGASA warned residents in these areas of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Easterlies affecting Luzon. Meanwhile, the easterlies may also bring rains over other parts of Luzon.

Cagayan and Isabela may experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

The Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also due to the easterlies.

The rest of the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
