SOLNECHNOGORSK /Moscow Region/, July 29. /TASS/. The adoption of two packages of measures aimed at combating online fraud has led to a decline in the number of such crimes in Russia, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy Sergey Boyarsky said.
"We are fighting fraudsters together with our telecom operators and the banking community using a wide range of methods, and the results are clear. We are recording a decline in the number of such crimes. Before that, we had only recorded growth. We developed two packages [of measures] and saw a decline," he said.
According to the lawmaker, Russia has come under an unprecedented attack by organized fraud groups coordinated by Ukraine and Western intelligence services. "I am confident that the third package, which we will soon consider, will cement this trend once and for all," Boyarsky said.
